The new Knoxville Skatepark opened Thursday afternoon.A ribbon cutting by officials and members of the Knoxville Skatepark Task Force was held at Tyson Park.
The 15,000 square foot Skatepark got financial support from the city of Knoxville, Knox County, Lamar Advertising, citizens and skating legend Tony Hawk.
It’s built on the site of the former University of Tennessee Lady Vols softball field.
